New York Surfer - Traditional Illustration

Project Description For one of my school projects, I was tasked with creating a cover design for the renowned New Yorker magazine. I ultimately decided to center my theme around a quintessential New York surfer, who often has to navigate his way through the city with his surfboard in tow just to catch some waves at Rockaway Beach. To bring my vision to life, I utilized a combination of colored pencils and alcohol markers. I carefully selected each color to create a vibrant and eye-catching design that would capture the attention of anyone who saw it. I also paid close attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the illustration was precisely rendered to convey the essence of my chosen theme. Overall, I am incredibly proud of the final product, and I believe it successfully embodies the spirit and culture of New York's thriving surfing community.
